The iconic Iglesia de La Concepción church looks out over the main pedestrian shopping street in Huelva. It was built at the beginning of the 16th century in Gothic-Mudéjar style, although its appearance today corresponds more to the Baroque style.
This is due to the restoration that was undertaken in the 18th century as a result of the damage caused by the renowned Lisbon earthquake. This was the first church in Spain dedicated to the Immaculate Conception.
The interior features important works of imagery as this church is the seat of numerous Easter brotherhoods in Huelva.
