Cañada Verde Visitors Centre
Cañada Verde Visitor Centre is located in Sierra de Hornachuelos Nature Reserve, home to one of the best preserved Mediterranean riverside woodlands in all of the Sierra Morena mountains, as well as one of the best European nettle tree forests in Europe.
Cañada Verde runs educational/recreational activities for school parties that complement school curricula.
It offers a place where the beauty and diversity of the “Dehesas de Sierra Morena” Biosphere Reserve come together, allowing you to discover a culture, its history and everything a territory can provide in terms of knowledge, quality of life and well-being.
Cañada Verde is a nature classroom with accommodation and many different activities in a stunning natural environment that boasts 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites:
1. Natural Heritage as a Biosphere Reserve;
2. Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for its three kinds of dry-stone walling; and
3. UNESCO Starlight Reserve.
The area's natural heritage includes fossil beaches and fossil cliffs with multiple marine fossils, whale ribs, etc., also Miocene shelters, prehistoric tombs, an Enchanted Forest, wildlife park, natural bonsai, etc. You can also enjoy the multi-adventure park and our acrobatic zip line circuit.
