Higuera de Calatrava
This village is situated to the east of the province, near the limit with the province of Córdoba, in a landscape which shares its main feature with their countryside neighbours, the olive tree.
History
The village was almost entirely rebuilt after the Spanish Civil War.It belonged to the Order of Calatrava, as its name points out, as well as many other villages in the AREA in 1431.
Until the year 1600, the village belonged to Martos, and carried the name of Higuera de Martos.
