Guarromán
This village is situated next to the Seville to Madrid motorway, in a landscape of rounded hills covered with olive trees and cereal fields. It presents the typical appearance of "road village", with a life and urban structure conditioned by this motorway.
History
Archaeological remains
from the oldest civilizations have been found throughout its municipal AREA, due to its position on the main way towards the meseta.
The Carthaginians were here due to its silver and lead mines. This was the site for the famous battle of Bacula. Remains from Roman times have also been found.
The beautiful Bowl of Guarroman, now in the Museum of Decorative Arts, dates from Visigoth times.
The present village was founded in 1767 by King Carlos III within the Plan of New Colonization Villages in Sierra Morena.
