Located on the outskirts of the magnificent historical town centre of Granada, the incredible Granada Bullring, also called “Frascuelo”, is a spectacular architectural monument officially declared a Cultural Asset or "BIC" (1992).

The Granada Bullring is one of the 10 oldest, largest and most spectacular bullrings in Spain, it occupies 9,000 m² and is the third one built in the city (1927). It's on three floors: The lower stands, the upper stands and the covered area, and has the same diameter of 50 metres as in the original. It is in Neo-Mudejar style, has a concrete structure with bare brick finishing decorating the façade which is covered with glazed ceramic tiles. The semi-circular and horseshoe arches give the building a Moorish touch, which fits perfectly with the city's iconic monuments like La Alhambra and the Elvira Gate.

The Granada Bullring opened on 30 September 1928 with a bullfight in honour of the Virgen de las Angustias, the city's patron saint, and featured the bullfighters Manuel Jimenez “Chicuelo”, Joaquín Rodríguez “Cagancho” and Fermín Espinosa “Armillita Chico”, with bulls bred by Concha and Sierra.

Guided tours of the Bullring and the event events and activities staged there are organised by a company called Cultura en la Arena. Without doubt, a luxurious experience which will surprise you and which you'll never forget.
