Patronato provincial de turismo de Granada
The Tourism provincial board was created in 1981 and depends of Granada County Council. It has a threefold current objective:
- To promote both nationally and internationally the rich varied tourist offer of the province of Granada and consolidate it as a holiday destination.
- To promote the tourist development of the province of Granada to make of tourism the driving force of the economy and an important employment and income source for this province.
- To offer tourist who visit the province personal attention and information to make their stay more pleasant.
Ever since it has set up, the Tourism provincial board has constantly promoted the tourist products of Granada among professional agents of the sector and the media.
Also, it has encouraged business people and politicians of the province to carry out activities that result in a better tourist offer, services and infrastructure.
The main aim of the Tourism provincial board is to make the province's attractions known so that the number of visitors to the different areas keep on growing.
This is why the following promotion activities are carried out:
- It participates in all national and international tourist fairs.
- It participates in all national and international tourist conferences organised by Turespaña and Turismo Andaluz.
- It organizes promotional activities both in Spain and in European countries.
- It organizes professional acts in the province of Granada with travel agents and journalists so that they get to know tourist products in situ.
- It welcomes familiarisation trips that make travel agents and journalists to Granada through the different Oficinas Españolas de Turismo (Spanish tourist information offices) spread all over the world.
Another aim of the Tourism provincial board is the tourist development of the municipalities and areas of Granada. This is why it offers:
- Statistical and market research.
- Professional advice to tourist entrepreneurs.
- Viability plans for business people and town halls.
- Tourist training courses.
