Munira Leather

Munira Leather is firmly committed to local crafts, and the shop cum workshop in located in the heart of Granada. Here you'll be able to find products traditionally made by small, local workshops, because their motto is “made in Granada/Andalusia/Spain”.

On a visit here you'll find exhibitions where you can learn about the art of embossing leather, as well as other local crafts. In the workshop, located above the shop, customers can appreciate their daily life and how they work. They also give demonstrations or “taster workshops” (these workshops last 2.5 hours).

Munira Leather, in the hands of Munira Mendonça, specialises in leather products which she herself creates, but she also works with over 20 craftsmen/artists from different sectors in Granada.

Summer: Everyday, 10am to 10pm. Winter: Everyday, 10am to 8pm. Closed for the first two weeks in February.

Leather craft has been immersed in Spain’s tradition for centuries. Over time, Granada developed its own unique style and technique. Every leather item made by this firm is the result of more than twenty years of research and practice in the techniques used in Granada’s traditional leather tooling and polychroming. A study that reached its height with the teachings of Diego Campos Mariscal, the last master craftsman in Granada, of whose collaboration we are profoundly grateful for. Our study of ancient designs as well as our use of traditional tools places each item well within the leather tradition of Spain, a rich but dying craft. However, our products can be adapted into corporate or personalized designs according to our customer’s requests
