Los Filetes del Diablo
In Gorafe and forming a part of the "Desierto de Gorafe" Geo-Route is a strange and impassable land, if it weren't for the trail that runs between deep gorges and ravines. At the bottom is an eroded form that resembles the old city of Petra in the Jordanian Desert: Los Filetes del Diablo.
The soft sedimentary limestone/sandy materials are deeply grooved with exceptional "badlands" morphologies. These reliefs are the product of linear erosion that has carved out deep ravines, which are perhaps unique in the world. This erosive evolution was generated by phenomena such as "piping" and "tunnelling", which result in morphologies that appear like an "egg box".
