Geodésico
In the heart of the “Gorafe Desert, this area, the ",Geodesic, provides 360 degrees panoramic views of the desert area and the surrounding mountain ranges. These rocks are largely responsible for the rocky character of this area, as they retain rainfall from Tempest fronts and allow the scarce rain entrance of torrential rains that have a great impact on the landscape.
If you scan the horizon from this privileged 360º vantage point from left to right, you will see the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Mountains, and the Sierra de Castril Mountains; north-east, La Sagra and to the east the omnipresent Jabalcón; to the southeast, the Sierra de Baza and to the south Sierra Nevada; west Sierra de Huétor-the Harana and Mencal; and, finally, to the northwest, Sierra Mágina in the province of Jaén. At the base is an area covered inred rills, commonly known as “Los Colorados".
