Gobernador is located 67 km away from the capital of Granada to the north of the Trough of Guadix, where the first Prehistoric civilizations settled in the Iberian Peninsula as proved by the number of archaeological remains found in the AREA.
History
In the Middle Ages it was a borderline that suffered constant Christian incursions, hostility and robbery on the hands of the Castilian horsemen stationed in Cazorla who would attack the Muslim AREA of Guadix.
