Escuela de Artes y Artesanías de Andalucía Della Robbia
Located in the district of Gelves, the Della Robbia School of Andalusian Arts and Crafts, which was founded in 1993 with the aim of recovering traditional crafts, owes its name to a famous Italian sculptor and potter from the 15th century. With over 20 years experience, the work undertaken there is a benchmark for research into and the preservation of the Andalusian artistic and monumental heritage. As a Vocational Training Centre, its main objective is to provide teaching courses of the highest quality: Ceramics, Woodwork, Cabinet Making and Lutherie.
In the two buildings there is a permanent exhibition of the work created by the student body, some of them awarded prizes by museums and institutions of international renown.
The headquarters is in a building whose appearance resembles an old Andalusian farmhouse, with a central patio surrounded by classrooms and workshops, with room to host numerous exhibitions and cultural activities. The prestige acquired by the School of Andalusian Arts and Crafts is also due to its participation in cultural events and craft demonstrations both in Spain and in other European Union countries and the rest of the world.
