Ermita de Santa Brígida
Santa Brígida Shrine sits on the summit of one of the hills that dominates the town of Galaroza, acting as a magnificent viewpoint and offering an exceptional panorama of the Múrtiga Valley in the foreground and an expansive backdrop of mountains.
The shrine dates back to the end of the 13th century or the beginning of the 14th and was built by Christian settlers. The apse is the oldest part. The doorway is at the foot of the nave and is a popular interpretation of a Mannerist model, dating back to the the 16th century.
Inside, you will find the statue of Santa Brígida, a 19th century piece by Agustín Sánchez. You can also see an effigy of the Divina Pastora in polychrome clay, which was created by Brother Juan de Galaroza, in the mid-19th century. The statue of San Gines was pillaged during the Civil War.
