Iglesia Parroquial de La Encarnación
Located in the district of Fuente Vaqueros, the Parish Church of La Encarnación is a single-nave church which acquired its parish status in 1780 and had the privilege of royal chapel until 1837. The original 18th century building was demolished and rebuilt in 1954, although it maintains its original bell tower. The church is in Latin cross formed and separated by pillars. It has a magnificent vault and an apse with side chapels.
In the interior there is a statue with over two centuries of history of the Patron Saint of Fuente Vaqueros, the Santísimo Cristo de la Victoria.
As a point of interest, inside the church you'll find the font where Federico García Lorca was baptised and the corresponding document which has been preserved in the church archives.
