Fuensanta de Martos
This small village is situated to the south of the province, in the southern mountains, in a landscape of soft hills covered with olive trees; not in vain this AREA is the biggest producer of olive oil in the province.
History
The village shares history with the surrounding villages (Alcalá la Real, Martos, Alcaudete...). It was a Christian outpost in the definitive assault to the Kingdom of Granada, which is its most important historical moment. In 1847 it became independent from Martos by a Royal Warrant of Emancipation signed by Queen Isabel II.
