The only church in Frailes was built in 1550 as a shrine, but as the town grew and a baptismal font was purchased from the Church of La Mota in 1778, it became a parish church.
Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, the Church of Santa Lucia was renovated several times as the town was growing and the church needed to be extended to be able to house all the friars, and to make the necessary repairs. But it wasn't until the end of the 20th century that it was decorated as we find it today.
