71st Edition
The Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucía is a multi-stage race that this year will cross four Andalusian provinces (Málaga, Jaén, Córdoba, and Cádiz) over five days, covering more than 800 kilometers.
The Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucía – Ruta del Sol has been promoted to UCI ProSeries, a new category just below the World Tour.
The Ruta del Sol - Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucía begins on February 19, celebrating the centenary of its first edition in 1925. The first stage starts in Torrox Costa and finishes at the Cueva de Nerja. The second stage passes through Jaén, from Alcaudete to Torredelcampo.
On the third day, cyclists will depart from Arjona and finish in Pozoblanco, in the Valle de los Pedroches. Córdoba will host the start of the longest stage, covering 195 km, which will end in Alhaurín de la Torre.
The final stage, on February 23, begins in Benahavís and finishes in La Línea de la Concepción, where the overall winner will be crowned.
In its 71st edition, the route features eleven mountain passes: one first-category climb (Madroño), six second-category, and four third-category climbs. A new addition is the "Golden Kilometer," a key section offering time bonuses that could be decisive for the final standings.
