Padre Martin Recio Museum
Situated in Estepa, Padre Martín Recio Museum preserves items from the Palaeolithic and Neolithic periods, primitive stone tools and handmade pottery.
Dating from the Tartessian period (9th century BC), it includes pottery from the Orientalising period. From the Punic and Roman periods there are trousseaus, tombstones and remains of columns. From the Palaeochristian and Visigoth periods we can find religious symbols, brooches and the front of an altar or sarcophagus. And from the Moorish period it has remains of pottery with inscriptions.
The most interesting work we can find at the Padre Fuerte Martín Museum is probably a Hypnos (god of sleep) from the second quarter of the 2nd century AD.
Monday to Friday: 8am to 3pm.
