Espelúy
This small village is situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, to the west of the province, in a landscape of orchards, cereal fields and olive groves.
History
For some historians, this was the Roman village of Silpia, famous during the campaign of Scipio Africanus in the Peninsula.A well preserved castle is the only remains of the al-Andalus period.
The Christian conquest was carried out by King Alfonso X. It was then given to the Earl of Santisteban.
