Small village situated behind the Sierra de Baza, next to the river that shares its name and near the Sierra de Los Filabres. It is in the corridor that joins the province of Almeria to the Marquesado del Zenete.

It belongs to the municipality of Las Tres Marias, within the Nacimiento area.
