The Parish Church of Santa María del Alcor lies on a Franciscan shrine built in 1260 on a Muslim marabout. It is located in El Viso del Alcor, Seville.
The parish church was built between approx. 1470 and the beginning of the 16th century, and has been refurbished many times over the centuries. It is built in the Seville Mudejar style, with a floor plan made up of three naves (the central one is double the size of the side ones), separated by cruciform pillars , which hold semi-circular arches with an alfiz, and a polygonal chevet crowned with a Renaissance dome.
The roof has a very simple and beautiful coffered ceiling. Inside we find the image of the town's patron saint, Santa Maria del Alcor, the Lignum Crucis, and two large 17th century paintings located on the High Altar, depicting Saint Catherine and Saint Francis of Assisi receiving the stigmata.
