Biography
Manuel Moreno Maya born in Córdoba in 1954 was uncovered in 1969 and won the Cayetano Muriel Prize in Cabra. In 1983 he won another in Cordoba´s´ National Competition, moment at which his second record appeared, a revolutionary piece entitled "La fuente de lo jondo" in which he is accompanied by the guitars of Isidro Sanlúcar, the producer, and Vicente Amigo. Along with the latter, he reached great prestige in the eighties even becoming a supporting group for David Bowie. He is a singer of the 'caracol´ school since Manuel Ortega is his main source.

Further information
Manuel Moreno Maya, "El Pele", received the Fiambrera de Plata in 1998, as awarded by the Ateneo de Córdoba, and in 2012 he won the "Magical Moment" Giraldillo Prize at the 17th edition of the Bienal de Flamenco in Seville.
