Biography
Miguel Vega de la Cruz was born in Huelva in 1952. He is, without a doubt, the best guitarist from Huelva that has ever lived. His father is Miguel el Tomate and his uncle is Tomatito.
He recorded two albums in the 1970s and he revolutionised the current flamenco guitar scene. He was hardly known before that and his way of understanding bulerías surprised even Paco de Lucía, who took Miguel to the recording studio for the two aforementioned albums.
In 1973 he received the Honour Award at the National Flamenco Guitar Contest at the Peña Los Cernícalos flamenco club in Jerez. In 1982 he played with Enrique Morente on his album "Sacromonte" and took part in the 3rd Seville Biennale. His way of playing has greatly influenced the following generations. However, nowadays Miguel hangs around the streets in Huelva, forgotten, with an old battered guitar that is always missing two or three strings. He died on May 23, 2013.

Llegó muy joven al mundo del flamenco y también se marchó muy rápido de los escenarios El Niño Miguel empezó a tocar la guitarra cuando todavía era un niño en las tabernas y las calles de Huelva.
Su padre, un músico almeriense, le transmitió la afición por la música y muy pronto se convertiría en el mejor "tocaor" de Andalucía.
Los que han podido escucharle alguna vez dicen que "parece que estás escuchando siete guitarras al mismo tiempo" y lo reseñable es que "normalmente toca con sólo tres cuerdas".
