Biography
Eduardo Serrano Iglesias, El Güito, was born in Madrid in 1942 and is, indisputably, the greatest dancer the capital has ever had. He started in the world of flamenco as a child, in the Rastro neighbourhood, where his mother sold lottery tickets. He won Madrid Theatre´s Child Artist Award and this definitively motivated him to devote himself to this art. At the age of sixteen he won the Sarah Bernhardt National Theatre Award, after having received training in La Quica´s and Antonio Marín´s academies. Pilar López herself, was who gave him the definitive support to turn him into the greatest performer of dance to "soleá" style, of all times. He formed part of the Trío Madrid along with the marriage Mario Maya and Carmen Mora, and later became independent to triumph in the world on his own. In 1996 he received the Calle de Alcalá Award and has played numerous roles in some films. Among his latest creations is "Madrid Jondo" (1995) and "Puro Jondo" (1999).
