Garrobo, El
Small mountain village located in the western part of the province. Its landscape of medium-sized mountains is typical of the area, and comprises a mixture of hills, pasture land, woods of holm oaks and fields used for farming and livestock.
The only monument is the Church of the Inmaculada.
History
Not much is known about its origins. Some remains from the chalcolithic period have been found, however, and they seems to indicate that there were human settlements at the period.During the war of Independence, the village was totally raised by the French troops in retaliation for the resistance of its inhabitants.
It belonged for a long time to the Castillo de las Guardas, and only recently became independent and constituted its own Council.
