Ecija's Limpia Concepción de Nuestra Señora- Los Descalzos church has been declared of Cultural Interest.

This church belonged to the convent of the Padres Carmelitas Descalzos monks from its foundation in 1591 until its confiscation. In 1910 the religious order retook possession of part of the building, as the convent buildings had been demolished, and partly converted into a home for the elderly run by the Hermanitas de los Pobres nuns.

The church has a Latin cross floor plan with a single nave, a transept, communicating side chapels between the buttresses, a high choir at one end and a presbytery with flat front, behind which is the sacristy. The single nave has a barrel vault with lunettes and a semi-spherical dome on a pendentive in the transept. The church was inaugurated in 1614. It was completely transformed in the 18th century, with the addition of rich plasterwork and murals, making for a unique setting. The production of the plasterwork reached its peak between 1760 and 1770, with many details picked out in pebbles.

The sculptures and woodwork, together with the 18th century organ, make it a symbol of Baroque Ecija.
