Dolores de la Huerta was born and died in Lucena (Córdoba). She developed her art at the end of the 19th century and she is attributed with a number styles for Lucena Fandangos, for which she is considered to be one of the basic roots of Cordoba Flamenco singing.
It is well-known that Dolores accompanied herself on the "guitarrilla" (traditional small guitar), that she laid the basic foundations for the original Fandango de Lucena and that she kept a market garden in Huertezuelos on the outskirts of Lucena.
