Diego Sebastián Mercedes Fernández Flores was born in Lebrija in the province of Seville in 1847 and died there in the 20th century. He was also known as "Diego El Lebrijano" or “Lebrijano el Viejo".
What is known about him is that he was very thick-set and had a sharp,hoarse voice, ("afillá", for connoisseurs of Flamenco) similar to thatof El Fillo. He was best known for his renditions of tonás, seguiriyas, cañas and soleares.
