Biography

The composer and guitarist Daniel Casares has given Flamenco guitar concerts all over the world and is much appreciated both by the public and the experts. In 2015 this musician celebrates an artistic career that has lasted 25 years.

The charm of his music is intimately related to the Maestro, Juanito Valderrama, who he accompanied during his final years; this resulted in the album "Don Juan”, recorded live at the Flamenco festival in La Unión (Murcia).

Fans of Lyric Opera were also able to appreciate Daniel Casares, as the mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli asked him to accompany her as a guest artist on her European Tour to present and pay tribute to the diva María Malibrán.

So it would be easy to leave names out, but in live performances he has accompanied personalities of great prestige like Alejandro Sanz, Dulce Pontes, Pasión Vega, Antonio Orozco, Chambao, Chucho Valdés, José Mercé, etc.

In December 2015 he presented his sixth album which pays tribute to Pablo Picasso. Some of his collaborations have been a real luxury, such as Dulce Pontes singing a Flamenco song with lyrics composed by Antonio Martínez AresMiguel Poveda plays a "bulería" (fast Flamenco rhythm) version of a theme by Luis Eduardo Aute. There has also been collaboration with the producer Lulo Pérez and the Israeli Adam Ben Ezra.

In addition to his concerts in the Flamenco format, since 2014 Daniel has been interested in the world of symphonies, presenting his first symphonic work “La luna de Alexandra”, which was orchestrated and conducted by the Maestro José Miguel Évora and which from July 2015 will be included in a same programme together with the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo, so as to perform concerts for guitar and orchestra.
