Biography
Francisco Díaz García was born in Utrera in 1927. He was first known as Curro el Toleano and started to work professionally at the age of 13 years, after he was discovered by Pepe Marchena. In the forties he found success in a number of theatres and in the fifties he settled in Madrid until he won the Premio Nacional de Córdoba in 1958. He has performed with artists like Juanito Valderrama, Lola Flores, La Niña de la Puebla and Antonio Molina. The 27 of February of 2009 he was named Honorary Citizen of his home town. He died on 20 June 2015 in La Guijarrosa (Cordoba), and he was buried in the Municipal Cemetery in Utrera.
