Built between 1530 and 1540 in the style of Granada palaces of the period. Its name (house of the shots) comes from the cannons once set between its battlements. It formed part of the defensive wall of Los Alfareros neighbourhood, hence its fortified, military appearance. Only the tower remains of the original building, with subsequent building taking place around it. Special mention should be made of the polychromed coffering in the Cuadra Dorada or main hall, as well as the Plateresque doors.

In 1921 it became state property, and since then has been home to the Casa de Tiros Museum, with a library and publications library dealing with Granada-related affairs.
