Cuevas del Campo
The village of Cuevas del Campo (Granada) is situated between two natural parks, to the south, Sierra de Baza, and to the north, Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas. It is also close in proximity to the Negratín reservoir.
History
Until 1981 it belonged to Zújar in terms of local administration. The latter was the scenario of the Moorish uprising in 1568. After their defeat and future expulsion in 1570, these lands were inhabited by Christians from Galicia and Castile. There is still a large district of caves constructed in the 16th century probably by those Moors who furtively came back later.- Max 18
