Cueva-Museo Etnográfico de Cuevas del Almanzora
Situated in Cuevas del Almanzora, the Ethnographic Cave-Museum represents the lifestyle of the caves in the mid-20th century, with all the significant utensils. The Ethnographic Museum aims to offer an educational approach to our local history and cultural heritage.
In Cuevas del Almanzora there are prehistoric caves that are 50,000-100,000 years old, although the ones that have been studied the most are 5,000 years old. The Moors also inhabited the caves and they have been used nonstop ever since.
The caves stopped being humble households and became fully-equipped houses, and they are even an incentive for rural tourism.
