Bodegas Palenzuela García
In Cortes y Graena, Granada province, Bodegas Palenzuela García winery was created as a family project based on dreams, hard work and lots of enthusiasm. All their wines are made with grapes from its own vineyards at over 1,000 metres above sea level on the more shaded side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. This gives the wines their own unique character.
Once the wine is made, it is left in a natural cave at a temperature that does not vary by more than 2ºC from winter to summer. For 12 months, it is aged in barrels of French and American oak.
After this period, it is transferred into Bordeaux bottles and stored to let the wine develop and mature. At the end of this long but very rewarding process, you obtain a beautiful cherry-red wine that has a pungent bouquet similar to red berries and plums, with smoky, balsamic tones and a velvety, full-bodied texture.
Bodegas Palenzuela García runs tours of the winery, where you can learn all about the wine making process, as well as its ageing and conservation. After the tour, you get to sample some of the wines, and they even offer the chance to enjoy an introduction into the world of wine tasting.
Bodegas Palenzuela García also offer wine tasting courses and group meals.
