Casa Rural Finca Montefrío
The country house is located in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche nature reserve, in a woodland area with holm oaks and cork oaks, alongside a riverbank studded with gall oaks, black poplars and alder trees.
The house is on one floor. It has living room with fireplace and sofa bed, kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is rented with sheets, towels and kitchen towels. It has central heating and pool.
Finca Montefrío is an organic meadow: the meadow comprises woodland of holm, cork and gall oaks, many of which are centuries old. These wonderful trees produce the most valued fruit for their animals: acorns. The Spanish term "montanera" refers to the time of year when acorns are available for the animals (from October to February). It is an ideal environment for breeding and fattening their pigs.
There is a wide variety of vegetation and biodiversity, including shrubs such as strawberry trees, rosemary, mastic, etc. and aromatic plants like thyme, lavender, oregano and many more.
The owners, Armando and Lola, inherited the estate from their family and this is where they have decided to spend their lives breeding livestock and producing the finest Iberian cured meats. They will show you where the animals live, what they eat, where they are born, roam and sleep. You will enjoy an ideal setting amid fabulous countryside.
