La Taberna del Río

La Taberna del Río is a new arrival on the gastronomic scene in Cordoba, which really tries to spoil its customers with traditional recipes from the cuisine of Cordoba with some avant-garde touches and all prepared from seasonal products. Their are recommended dishes daily in accordance with the market.

Its location near the historic Plaza del Potro, close to many museums and monuments also makes it a favourite with tourists looking to rest and recover. The large terrace opposite the house is ideal to sit outside on sunny days in winter to enjoy its specialities.

La Taberna del Río has an interior courtyard which it is a part of the tavern. On the first floor of the building you'll find the main room which can be booked for all kinds of celebrations and product launches. The outstanding feature is the top terrace offering spectacular views over the Guadalquivir River with the Torre de la Calahorra and the Roman Bridge on the horizon and the Cordoba countryside in the background. On hot summer nights, after a pleasant evening, guests can enjoy a few drinks in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying the pleasant micro- climate of the river.

As for wine, a prominent role is played by local wines, such as Fino, young wine, from the earthenware jar, Oloroso, Amontillado, Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximénez, all from the Montilla-Moriles Designation of Origin.
