Cordoba Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The meeting room is located on the first floor of the building and is a simple room with a long table and twelve seats. The tapestries, from the Royal Tapestry Factory, the Cordoban leather pieces by López-Obrero and the table and chairs date from the inauguration of the building in 1955. In this room, there is a pyrograph by Miguel del Moral, depicting Saint Raphael, the winged archangel, guiding the disoriented Tobias. Saint Raphael is the protector of the town and patron of merchants.

The assembly hall is located on the second floor, with access from the hall and the staircase. In the hall there is a large window overlooking the courtyard and a sculpture by Jorge de Oteiza, made of olive wood on a stone base (currently on display in the exhibition "Jorge Oteiza and Eduardo Chillida. Dialogues in the 50s and 60s" at the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastian). The assembly hall has a parabolic floor plan and features a gentle slope. The walls have been covered with wooden slats to optimise acoustic quality. It is covered by a plaster vault, made by Rafael del Rosal, and gilded with gold leaf by Paco Espinar, who was also in charge of painting the building. This vault is not just an aesthetic feature, but it is designed this way because it follows a sound distribution so that the speaker's voice can be heard from all points of the room with the same intensity.
