Conoce los Patios de Córdoba. Visita guiada para embriagar tus sentidos
In the historical town centre of Córdoba, in northern Axerquía and further away from the Jewish Quarter, you'll find some of the most representative Córdoba patios, around the main churches from the period of King Fernando.
They were ordered to be built by King Fernando III after the conquest of Cordoba (1236), these patios follow the structure and distribution of the Roman houses adapted to al-Andalus culture. Although of humble construction and hardly built-up until the 19th century, for many centuries they were home to numerous families living around a common patio. Most of them were renovated in the last century and have acquired a contemporary architectural style although they still retain the original spirit of a Córdoba Patio: the charm of a typical dwelling for several families in medieval Córdoba.
We will visit 6 popular patios and meet the owners, who still affectionately care for these extraordinary patios. They will reveal some of the secrets of these houses with centuries of history later and which are still inhabited by ordinary families. You'll see plants that you have never seen before, hear about how they are cared for on a daily basis and enjoy their fresh. green colours and wonderful aromas.
