Triunfo de San Rafael
Due to the extensive devotion in the city, nearly every neighborhood has a statue or "triunfos" dedicated to the archangel San Rafael.
This one, by the sculptor Michel de Verdiguier in 1781 and situated next to the Puerta del Puente, is the most impressive and magnificent of Cordova. It was built to thank the archangel to save the city from a terrible earthquake.
