Iglesia de la Magdalena
This church gives its name to the neighbourhood known as the Barrio de la Magdalena, and is one of the churches built after the Christian conquest of Cordoba.
It is built in the typical artistic style of the period seen throughout the city, and shows evidence of the purely Castilian influence brought by the conquerors. The late Romanesque style which had earlier been prevalent in Castile is replaced by the Mudejar style, in combination with Gothic elements. The Epístola doorway is the oldest of all the churches in the city.
The church of La Magdalena was deconsecrated many years ago and is no longer a place of worship. It is currently used as a venue for exhibitions and concerts.
