Bodegas Fuente Reina
Bodegas Fuente Reina is located in a refurbished regionalist building from the early 20th century, on the Calle Yedra in the town of Constantina, in the Sierra Norte Nature Reserve in the province of Seville. The vineyards, some eight hectares growing Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, extend beside the old 17th century wine cellar of the La Purísima Concepción estate, at kilometre point 11 on the road to Cazalla de la Sierra.
Also restored and adapted to the latest requirements, Bodegas Fuente Reina now has modern technology, stainless steel tanks and an outstanding selection of French and American oak barrels that is renewed every four years.
La Purísima Concepción has been a wine-producing estate since 1647. The wine cellar was founded in 1930 and was a pioneer in the production of the first bottled Andalusian red wine, “Fuenterreina, Tinto Andaluz, Reserva 1943”. After a long period of inactivity, in 1998 certain prestigious wine producers from northern Spain would discover the potential for wine in this marvellous region, giving rise to the revival of Bodegas de Fuente Reina. His first vintage arrived in 2002, the fruit of experience and the application of advanced wine-production techniques which guarantee quality of the wines.
Opening times: Everyday, 11am to 5pm. Visits by prior arrangement. Open all year round, except in September.
