Every night of October 31, the Virgin of Fuensanta, patron saint of Coín, walks through the main streets of Coín in one of the oldest processions in the municipality.
This centenary procession has its origin in the belief that during the terrible Lisbon earthquake in 1755 in Coín and its surroundings no misfortune occurred due to the protection of the virgin, while in other towns the earthquake caused great disasters.
As thanks, this silent procession is celebrated in which the only lighting is the candles carried by the neighbors who accompany the image.
The procession takes to the street after a Eucharist that is celebrated in the Parish of San Juan Bautista.
