Chucena
Village belonging to the area of El Condado, situated in the southeast of the province, on the border with the province of Seville, in a landscape made up of fields of cereals, vines and olive groves, with zones of holm oaks and cork oaks.
The Parish church and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Estrella are worthy of note.
History
According to tradition, María "Chucena" built the first hut next to the chapel of the Virgen de la Estrella in the XVI century.
Primitive Chucena was created due to the obligatory emigration of the inhabitants of Alcala de la Alameda during the XIII century. They grouped together around a monument called "the little cross".
Its history runs parallel to that of Alcala de la Alameda, currently uninhabited and head of the Marquisate of the same name.
