Wayside Shrine of the Shrine of Nuestra Señora de Regla

According to tradition, the Wayside Shrine of the Shrine of Nuestra Señora de Regla was built over the well in which the image of Our Lady of Regla was hidden during Moorish occupation. It can be found in Chipiona, Cadiz.

At first, according to the legend, a cross was erected in this place, which was later on replaced with an open-air chapel by Father Nuño in 1663, with the help of the Duke of Medina Sidonia. It has been restored several times. The last two times were in 1947 (when the inside walls were tiled) and in 2022, when part of the ceiling frescoes were recovered after a fire.
