Chipiona celebrates this festivity in honour of its patron saint, the Virgin de Regla.
The festive atmosphere which prevails throughout the town for the days of the festivities reaches a high point on the final day, with the procession to accompany the Virgin.
The festivities include numerous activities and attractions to entertain both young and old, such as street performers and musicians, games, shows and concerts, as well as traditional dancing.
On 8 September, the last day of the festivities, the Virgin is taken in procession from the shrine which bears her name and is carried through the streets of the town. According to tradition, this event marks the end of the summer season.
At midnight, a fireworks castle on the Playa de Regla beach signals the close of these festivities for one more year.
