Olive oil tourism at El Molino del Hortelano

It is a perfect place to discover the fascinating world of olive oil through a unique experience. It offers two distinct types of visits, providing a warm, approachable and engaging way to explore the world of olive oil, from the harvesting of olives to the extraction of their pure juice. All visits include a tour of the modern oil mill, where the entire cold extraction process of extra virgin olive oil extraction is explained, from the moment the olive arrives at the oil mill until the storage and packaging of the oil.   

Their experiences will allow you to  travel back in time, visiting an old stone mill from the 18th century, which was previously a wine press, from which the exceptional winery has been restored and which has one of the few quintal beam presses that exist in the province of Malaga. In this space, now home to a small museum,  you can learn  how our ancestors made oil and  enjoy a traditional miller's breakfast. A simple dish to start the day with energy.
