Cabra Malagueña
Headquartered in the town of Casabermeja, the Malaga Goat Breeders Association of Spain has among its goals to promote the consumption of products derived from this magnificent animals, old companion of man: milk, delicious goat cheeses and the popular Malaga Suckling Goat, the first goat meat with a Quality Seal that is recognised throughout Spain.
Furthermore, from the tourist perspective, it offers an immersion experience in the world of the Malaga goat. It offers four activities for participating in, whether together or separately: a guided visit to the Malaga Goat House, with a workshop on cheese, cheese tasting and grazing.
Its centre of operations is at the Malaga Goat House, with information panels, farming tools and audiovisual materials. The visit is completed by different scheduled activities: cheese-making workshops, product tasting sessions, visits to farms, tasting menus of Malaga Goat products at the town's restaurants…. The Malaga Goat House is a refurbished building with 4 rooms distributed on two storeys, an interior courtyard and a newly built room equipped for hosting the workshops and product tastings.
The stunning landscapes of the countryside of Torcal de Antequera (World Heritage Site) and the Malaga Montes Nature Reserve are the surroundings where the shepherding takes place, and where shepherds share their wisdom of one of man's oldest professions.
