Canena
This village is situated in Jaen's countryside in the centre of the province, near Ubeda and Baeza.
Its landscape, as the rest of the area, is completely covered with olive trees with some scattered cereal fields.
In the village there is a beautiful Castle. It is also possible to practice health tourism in San Andres Spa.
History
The village belonged to the Order of Calatrava and later to the Marquis of Camarasa.
It was an important village throughout the Modern Age.
The castle was turned into a palace-fortress by Don Francisco de los Cobos, the work was carried out by Andres de Vandelvira. It is mentioned in several "border romances" and in some songs about country life by the Marques de Santillana.
