Calahonda
Calahonda is a beautiful coastal town that is 13 kilometres from Motril, located east of Carchuna.
It stands out as one of the most interesting tourist spots of the Tropical Coast of Granada, for its beautiful beaches and good conditions for diving. In fact, its name indicates that the water here is deeper and more transparent than in the whole coast.
Thanks to its privileged location, which makes it a place of tourist attraction, its population multiplies in summer with the arrival of thousands of tourists.
History
The village of Calahonda emerges after the construction of Carchuna Castle, allowing the defense of this area of the Berber attacks.
With this fact, the inhabitants feel protected, so that is created on the main town we know today.
