Taberna Casa Manteca
Taberna Casa Manteca is a typical tavern in the heart of the Barrio de La Viña in the centre of Cadiz.
Founded 1953, it is one of the best-known and emblematic venues in Cadiz. For many years, it was a grocer's with a bar attached to it that was always frequented by flamenco dancers, singers, bullfighters and famous people. Today, it is a typical tavern decorated with bullfight posters and motifs, a place for reunions and gatherings of characters from the Barrio de La Viña, the world of flamenco, the carnival, and it is frequented by people of all kinds.
You can have tapas including a wide variety of quality meats served in kraft paper, delicious Iberian ham, excellent salted and preserved tuna, crackling baked and seasoned with salt and lemon, and of course, you can try different wines.
During the season for sea urchins, sellers set up at the doors of Casa Manteca and customers eat them at the bar washed down with wine.
From 12:00 to 4:30 pm. and from 8:30 pm. to 1:00 am. In winter, closed Sunday night and Monday.
