Bastion of San Pedro
Past the castle of Santa Catalina, the walled enclosure of Cadiz continued along the cove of Santa Catalina. This is where the Bastion of San Pedro stood, which consisted of two sides and one main face. It was connected to the Castle of Santa Catalina by a wall that started from the middle of the face of the semi-bastion on the right of the land front of this castle, forming two redientes along its length.
The batteries of this bastion covered part of the entrance to Cadiz, and it was one of these bastions, along with the bastion of Candelaria, that caused the most damage to the English army during the invasion of Cadiz in 1556.
